This day was spent in Manhattan. That may seem like going to Bellevue, but Manhattan is SO huge, you cannot get from one area to another without taking the subway and boy are we glad we got the weekly subway pass on the first day in Manhattan.
First we had breakfast at a favorite place of mine called the Metro Diner. After a bit of nourishment we headed out for a walk and ended up at Rockefeller Plaza where we watched the NBC Today show and then had coffee at Dean and Deluca. Following that we headed out to find some new earphones for Sharon and found a new pair of Sennheiser's at Macy's, just like we had on our previous trip a couple years ago. For some reason they have the best prices on these particular earphones that we've found anywhere.
Not to sound like all we did was eat, but by the time we got the earphones and took the subway to Soho, it was time for lunch so we headed to Dean and Deluca there and had a quick lunch before heading out to see the boutiques in the area.
Then we headed to Chelsea to revisit what Nick and Corre had shown us on Day 8. Chelsea Market houses a lot of the Food Channel shows, like Bobby Flay and Rachel Ray. We bought fixins for bruschetta at a couple of the markets in the Chelsea Market and then headed back to Brooklyn where Corre and Sharon made bruschetta and when Nick got home from work, we had his yummy leftover pasta chicken toss from the day before and the bruschetta. Good food, good wine, nice apt, and great family, what could be nicer?
